A note on sweeteners

We use Reb M. If you haven’t heard of it: most sugar-free drinks are sweetened with stevia, and the common cheap grade (called Reb A) is what leaves that bitter aftertaste. Reb M comes from the same plant but tastes clean. It costs more, which is why most brands don’t use it. There are no artificial sweeteners in RAWSTONE.

On mineral forms

The form a mineral comes in changes how it dissolves and how it tastes. Magnesium as citrate, which dissolves fully in water, not the chalky oxide in cheaper tubs. Potassium as citrate, because the chloride form tastes like metal. Both dissolve fully in water.

How to use

Dosing and
titration guide.

Half a scoop is 500 mg sodium. A full scoop is 1000 mg. If you haven’t used a high-dose electrolyte before, start at half and build up. It takes a few days for some people to adapt. One serve a day is the maximum.

RAWSTONE is a formulated supplementary sports food. Not suitable for children under 15 years of age or pregnant women: should only be used under medical or dietetic supervision. Not a sole source of nutrition: use it as part of a nutritious diet, alongside an appropriate training or exercise program.

01
Start at half a scoop
Half a scoop delivers 500 mg sodium, a sensible starting point if you’re new to high-dose electrolytes or you’re just sensitive to salt. Mix with 750 ml of cold water. Some people settle here permanently and that’s completely fine.
02
Step up to a full scoop
After 3–5 days at half dose, move to a full scoop: 1000 mg sodium, 250 mg potassium citrate, 75 mg magnesium citrate. Mix with 750 ml of cold water and drink over 20–30 minutes. This is the dose we designed around.
03
When to drink it
First thing in the morning (on an empty stomach or during a fast), before or during exercise, or any time you need to rehydrate quickly. One serve a day is the maximum, so heavy sweaters should time it around their longest or hottest session.
04
One thing worth knowing
1000 mg of sodium sounds high because of decades of low-salt messaging. In practice, a hard workout or a hot day can strip 1000–2000 mg of sodium through sweat alone. One serve of RAWSTONE puts back what a session like that takes out. Most mass-market sports drinks give you 200 to 300 mg.

Mixing tip

Add the powder first, then water. A 10–15 second shake is enough, with no grit or residue at the bottom. Works in still or sparkling water. We prefer it cold.

Test certificate

Tested before it ships.
Certificate published here.

Our first batch will be tested by an accredited lab before it ships. The lab issues a test certificate (the industry calls it a Certificate of Analysis) and we’ll publish it here in full.

It covers screens for heavy metals and microbes. The lab name, accreditation number, batch reference and test date are all on there.
